Call for Tutorials

(PDF version here)

The 10th International Colloquium on Grammatical Inference (ICGI 2010) Organizing Committee invites proposals for tutorials to be held in conjunction with the conference. Tutorials are an effective way to educate and/or provide the necessary background to the intended audience enabling them to understand technical advances or introducing them in the grammatical inference research area.

For ICGI 2010, we are seeking proposals for tutorials on all topics related to grammaticalinference. A tutorial may be a theme-oriented comprehensive survey, discuss novel grammatical inference techniques or may center around successful application of grammatical inference in important application areas (e.g. bioinformatics, machine translation, natural language processing, pattern recognition, etc.). The ideal tutorial should attract a wide audience. It should be broad enough to provide a gentle introduction to the chosen topic, but it should also cover the most important contributions in depth. Proposals that exclusively focus on the presenter's own work are not eligible.
The typical tutorial will be 2 hrs long (longer tutorials will be considered).

Proposals should be submitted electronically in PDF format by December 20, 2009 to:

Proposals should include the following: It is expected that selected lecturers will produce a report with the main contents of the tutorial. All the lectures will be published in a book which will be distributed among the attendants to the ICGI 2010 Tutorials Day.
